Edward Elgar Publishing have won Independent, Academic, Educational and Professional Publisher of the Year at the Bookseller Industry Awards 2013.
The award was presented at a prestigious black tie event held in London on Monday evening. Beating four other nominees in the category, EEP were recognised for a burgeoning digital strategy, the continued innovations in our publishing programme, the loyalty we enjoy amongst authors, our international marketing reach, and the production quality of our books.
The judges called EEP “a small publisher with a very big reach”, admiring the drive behind our new digital platform Elgaronline in particular:
“This is a really good, neat way of intermediation that helps its customers find the content they want as quickly as they can…. It is a big strategic change that takes a small player into the big league”.
Tim Williams, Managing Director of EEP, said on receiving the award: “It is wonderful to have our efforts over so many years, and also I believe the founding ethos of EEP, recognised by our peers and the wider industry in this way”.
